Shut Genuine check in Windows XP

If you have been a victim of software piracy and do not have a genuine licence for the windows XP operating system you use then Microsoft will catch you red handed if you try to update your system using microsoft support and download site.

you will be barred from changing your wallpaper and your desktop will be all Black!! a small notifying balloon will popup and stay forever in your lower right bottom and will continue to annoy you till you validate your genuine licence key. Nothing less than a nightmare when your PC tries to bully you!!

we have got a small tweak to remove the limitations so that you can continue your pending jobs without problems but we strongly condemn software piracy and promote genuine products. Here is the stepwise solution.

1. Launch Windows Task Manager.

2. End wgatray.exe process in Task Manager.

3. Restart Windows XP in Safe Mode.

4. Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32.

5. Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\Windows\System32\dllcache.

6. Launch RegEdit.

7. Browse to the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify

8. Delete the folder ‘WgaLogon’ and all its contents

9. Reboot Windows XP.

Hope it solved you problem and the nag no longer bothers you.
